It was about 5:15 pm when we returned to the vehicle and headed back to Mancos State Park. We arrived back at the campground before 6:00 pm.

This time it was earlier in the evening so we still had some daylight left by the time we finished eating dinner and washed the dishes. Having slept in late, we stayed up later and got a clear view of the starry sky. Out in the boondocks where there are no city lights or smog, you can see many more stars. The sky is literally filled with them. As the night air cooled, we put on our jackets and fixed ourselves some hot chocolate.

A couple of cars came through the main campground. One of them went back out and headed up to the west campground. The other car pulled into a site over by the outhouse, probably site 2, and set up camp.

It was around 9:30 or 10:00 by the time we called it a day and hit the sack.
