This area contains the museum, bookstore, a restaurant, gift shop, and the park headquarters. We decided to check out the museum first.

They were doing construction work here, so we had to follow a path around some buildings to get to the museum. As we did so, we located the path down to Spruce Tree House, and got our first look at the ruins. We went into the museum and did a quick look through the exhibits and displays. This building also houses the bookstore, which we did not enter.

I wanted to look through the gift shop before going down to Spruce Tree House. We left the museum and walked a short ways up the parking lot to another building. This one houses both the restaurant and the gift shop.
